Description
Come to the Festival CD: Is an invitation to the Orkney International Science Festival from Mr Boom and festival director Dr Howie Firth. It’s an open invitation to this annual festival, aimed at imaginative thinkers old and young. Listeners to Radio Moon will hear Big Bang theory simplified in the song “ Once there was a point” and the objectivity/subjectivity debate resolved in the song “I am me”. “Percy the Particle” discovers he’s a proton and does the “Solar System Dance”. Songs about Time and Natural Power are gathered from Mr Boom’s earlier albums and there’s a brand new song about the Scottish scientist James Clerk Maxwell as well as a song about Trees and their place in evolution. The question “who actually discovered America first?”, is raised in “Did he go?” and there’s a good old rock n roll geography lesson in the lyrics of “A9 to Wick”.
“Come to the Festival” – a collection of “science is fun” songs – was released at the Orkney International Science Festival on 6th September 2012. Two of the songs The A9 to Wick and James Clerk Maxwell are viewable as videos on You Tube.
Lyrics to the songs on this new album are available at Orkney International Science Festival
